The Northumberland hockey club has found their next rising star. Russian forward Sergey Khormov was recently acquired in a trade with the New Tec Civics and is proving to be a force with the Stars.

In this weekend's match in front of a few hundred Stars fans, Sergey had a three point game including two goals.

The 21 year old Russian comes to the Stars with four seasons of major junior experience split between the Russian top league MHL and the second junior league MHL-B.

An underutilized asset on the first place Civics, the Stars made a savvy trade to improve the top of their lineup.

Khormov and the rest of the Stars take on the Niagara Whalers next week on home ice. Puck drop is November 2nd at 7:30pm.
