The Niagara Whalers and Northumberland Stars did battle yesterday evening on home ice. The higher seeded Whalers club had all they could handle in the Stars, but came away with the 6:4 victory. It was a big bounce back game for the Stars, who have re-found their step for the new year.

The shots were relatively equal at 57-56, Whalers, and the game could have gone either way.

The game was tied 3:3 heading into the third period, a great feat in itself for the much younger Stars squad. Niagara narrowly came away with the 6:4 final with a third period rally.

Goal scorers on the evening included: Laird, Stevenson and Andrews (2).

Next up is the Bradford Bulls at home on January 19th. Puck drop is 7:30PM.
