The Northumberland Stars are a club showing signs of things heading in the right direction. Despite a 5-1 loss to the defending South Division Champion Kingsville Kings, the Stars played well. The Kings are a top team in the GMHL and the Stars kept things close.

It was 1-0 after the first period with both teams having plenty of chances to score.

Northumberland's Malik Henry found the back of the net with the help of Tyler Brackin and Steven Weber. It was 3-1 heading into the third but the Kings pulled away to make it a 5-1 final.

Goaltender Maksim Kuteinkov played outstanding in the net, making 50 saves in the game.

The Stars have a full week of practices ahead before hosting the St. George Ravens. The Ravens are another top GMHL club that will be a good challenge for your hometown Stars. Puck drop is Saturday, October 26 at 7:30pm at the Keeler Centre.
