Northumberland has opened the season with two wins and zero losses in the 2017-2018 Greater Metro Junior 'A' Hockey League. The Stars compete in the highly competitive South Division.

Wins over the Oshawa Riverkings and London Lakers have the Stars group turning heads around the league.

First was a 7:5 win over the Riverkings followed by a 6:4 win against the Lakers.

The organization credits the returning core as the reason for the hot start. Leading the club thus far are familier faces of Evan Wasylyk and Tyler Brackin. Both veteran players have 5 points in two games, tied for the club lead.

The Stars will look to make it three in a row September 29th against the North York Renegades.
